Hiro, Han, and Toki were surprised by the sudden appearance of Guinevere as she apparated between Han and Toki with a friendly arm wrapped around their necks. Even with the presence of one of Malty's servants Hiro's Big Sister Instincts kicked in as she studied the witch girl. "Oh..Kay. Now can you explain in a language that is less cryptic. Please?"
"Since you've asked nicely" Guinevere winked at the Guardian of Hinansho. "A suitor of Malty's has heard about what went down in regards of the Feonds. And that vibe you're probably feeling right now is all radiating from him.
"Well that sort of puts my mind at ease as we aren't dealing with a Feond. So who is this suitor?" Hiro asked
"His name is Darius" Guinevere replied

"Chidori Chinatzu" Morgaine said in a monotone, appearing before the magical girl. "If you have a moment, I shall explain as to the disturbance you're sensing right now"

Fresh tears streamed down Malty's eyes she reached up and held Darius hand while leaning her cheek against Darius touch affectionately. "Forgive me. It has been..An intense month as of late"
Darius silently pulled her close and embraced her, his hand ran a circle on the center of her back in an attempt to sooth her. "There's nothing to forgive my love. Tell me of this threat you're dealing with and I shall offer my assist"

Baron smiled, its not often either he or his sister would get that kind of praise. The closest he'd ever get from the vampire community were from a handful of members of the Red Dragon Coven. Thinking over that a bit more he started to laugh a little. "If Malty were here, while she wouldn't show it, a compliment like that would've meant the world to her" He picked up a faint tune, just moments before a chill ran through his spine. The daemon from within started to move, no doubt the creature sensed a presence of an Elder. Baron pushes it back as far as he could. He instructs the daemon to scan his sister. He can feel the whirlwind of emotions Malty must be feeling while she deals with the familiar presence. "Excuse me, Miss Wakamura. I have to check on the other guest, I shall not take long" He bowed gracefully and stood up. With his back to her his eyes flashed a fiery golden color. "Do you wish for me to fetch you anything" he asked kindly Maki didn't need psychic powers to tell that something was wrong. She held up her handgun. "By any chance, would you happen to have magic bullets?" She asked politely. She wasn't sure WHAT was coming of course but she'd seen enough supernatural activity to know when it was go time and that ordinary bullets weren't always effective so the might as well take the chance to lock and load. Baron smiled and snapped his fingers and one of the maids appeared next to Maki and offered her a few clips marked with arcane symbols. "Perfect." She ejected the clip, pocketed it and slid in one of the three arcane clips of 26 magical bullets. Just in case. "Alright. I'll go inside and protect the others in case this turns ugly. Be careful with...whatever's coming." "I'll go check on my sister. In the event things do get intense can I count on you to go full Mama Bear" Baron asked "As ferocious as they come, while playing it by the book of course" Maki smiled |

"And I assure you, Miss Wakamura, and you too Kurosawa Siblings, that anything you might have read about him has been watered down." "Ohhh. Oh we could be in very big trouble here." Chidori stopped and looked at her. "Where is she? I can feel it, something's wrong here! She needs help!" "Calm yourself, Chidori Chinatsu. Running off half-cocked will do you no good here. Please allow me to explain." "Alright...what is it? What's happening? Because something scary is out there." "Yes. That is the presence of Lord Darius of The Red Dragon Coven that you are sensing at this moment." "Lady Battousai, why do you tremble so? Is something wrong? Have you been harmed?" Darius asked out of concern. "N-no. No...it's...it's nothing." She took a breather and gathered herself. "See, it all happened a short time ago with a monster invading the park and spreading pain and destruction in it's path." She began to explain everything that happened that day with The Feond, The Suffering Spheres, Chidori's Transformation and everything else they'd learned. |

Guinevere wagged her finger, she folded her legs on the bed to make herself more comfortable while pulling the police girl and the male member of the Battosai clan close to her. Hiro's eyes never stayed away from Guinevere. From her perspective she never got the impression of hostile intentions from the witch girl but she took note of Gwen's interest in Toki but most of all her brother. She took a seat on one of the chairs within the room while Gwen continued talking.
"What you guys are feeling is natural. You see, Elder Vamps tend to give off this aura about them whenever they're near. You're all familiar with the Bram Stoker story right?"
Toki, Hiro, and Han nods. Han, in particular tries to hide the common teenage urges that's developing. Especially when being close to two attractive young women in the room.
"Lets take Dracula for example. Just being within five feet of him would render any strong willed individual to the brink of madness. The fact that neither of you have experience that is a rarity. And fortunately, Darius didn't arrive with any hostile intentions. We are in a potential war with an otherworldly being and he's the kind of ally we would need if we want to stand a chance against what's coming" Guinevere stated
Chidori exhaled. She plopped on a chair that Morgaine summoned. She's still trying to wrap her head around her own magical abilities and the very concept of magic in particular but the very idea that they have an ally whom, based on the stories she has heard and what Morgaine has informed, is borderline Lovecraftian. She looks at a beverage that Morgaine offered her. She accepted it while Morgaine summoned her own.
"First off...I really appreciate you being upfront with me about this. It's just..."
"What is it?" Morgaine asked
Chidori ran her fingers through her hair. "Working with an Elder vampire like that. Isn't it the equivalent of making a deal with the devil"
"Apostle actually." Morgaine corrected "Lucifer doesn't make deals personally because his mere presence would make you want to claw your face off. Which is why Apostles do the deal making."

But, doesn't that circle around to my original question?" "Darius is dark and ancient and powerful, yes, but he is not that kind of being. If he was to make such a bargain he would outline everything that you are getting into, what to expect and what you will get out of it in return. He's not Priscilla." "Who?" "I will explain later. My point being is that he is here to assist us. The world continuing to turn benefits Vampires as well as the rest of humanity after all." "I know you are. Go cover the kids. We'll back." Baron saluted and backflipped off of the balcony while Maki turned and walked back inside. "Be careful out there, Baron, we'll be waiting for you guys to come back safe and sound." |

Malty's curiosity peaked. "The Eldritch War?"
Darius chuckled dryly, "That's something that not many vampires talk about. But speaking from personal experience, even when you win this. Friends, Family, or anyone close to you will be either dead or corrupted. When you're dealing with an otherworldly threat, that being is going to go all out. So I ask, how far are you willing to go, to protect the ones you love?"

I'm not familiar with the enemy but I'd say it's safe to assume they're primarily mystical beings correct? So we'll combine your talents with the others and combine magic and technology! They won't know what hit them!" "If I have to dance with the devils in hell after the dust settles than so be it." Malty replied firmly. "We have billions of lives to worry about and potentially the lives of people in other worlds and dimensions. I will step into the darkness to protect all of them if need be." Her voice was strong and fearless and determined. "But? Who's to say it will even come to that?" She asked as Baron appeared next to her. "If we all work together? We can tear this Goddess and her forces apart." |

In a different lifetime you'd make a fine Knight." She reached out to caress his cheek before her attempt was blocked by Hiro, who grabbed her wrist. "Eyes on the task at hand Witch-Girl" Guinevere pouted then smirked at the taller woman. She wiggled her nose and her wrist phased out of Hiro's grip. "Have it your way Amazon" As Hiro watches Gwen leave her A.I assistant commented. "Oh man, talk about nerves of steel! I like her!" Hiro rolled her eyes at that comment. - "Baron, my boy" Darius smiled and pat him on the shoulder, he noticed the intensity in the young man's eyes. That warriors spirit and determination to protect the ones he care about. Its going to be interesting to see him putting it to the test. "You've grown a lot since I've seen you." He surveyed the younger vampire, "Packed a little muscle on you" "Really?" Darius though about it for a moment then shook his head. "No" The Elder took Malty's hand and kissed it. "I will take that under consideration." He replied cheekily. "Always a pleasure you two. Rest assured The Red Dragon Coven will be informed of the situation." Guinevere giggled, she hugged Toki and kissed her on the cheek. "You're a regular spitfire, I like you" She got up from the bed and approached Han, she surveyed him while putting her hands on her hips. "Such a rare commodity. In a different lifetime you'd make a fine Knight." She reached out to caress his cheek before her attempt was blocked by Hiro, who grabbed her wrist. "Eyes on the task at hand Witch-Girl" Guinevere pouted then smirked at the taller woman. She wiggled her nose and her wrist phased out of Hiro's grip. "Have it your way Amazon" As Hiro watches Gwen leave her A.I assistant commented. "Oh man, talk about nerves of steel! I like her!" "To be blunt sis, it's about the two of us being able to assist you guys in the upcoming battle" Malty looked up at the sky, it was calm and peaceful. She takes a deep breath and exhaled as she felt her daemon calming down. "Are you Okay?" Baron asked holding his sister's hand. She walked over and embraced her older brother in a hug. "I hate being vulnerable like that" "You didn't look that way to me. From what I saw you look like you're ready to stare down a cosmic horror and not flinch" Baron complimented as he held her. |

"If only it were that simple" Baron and Malty turned to find Izumi Miyazaki observing them as she leaned against the the wall on the far west side of the guest room. "How long were you standing there" Malty asked in a curious tone "Long enough to wonder if the two of you were going to either hug it out, make out, or both" Malty lets go of her bro then strolled over to Izzy, she reached up and caressed the side of her face. "Oh Izzy Bee, no need for that. You'd be more than welcome to join." Izzy calmly took her hand gently then kissed it, "As screwed up as our family is, I have lines I do not cross. And besides. Davey Jones keeps me satisfied" "I was at the wedding remember? Saw him in person. No doubt about that" Baron commented. Izzy cleared her throat before she continued. "Wit aside. This brief visit from Darius and that Feond attack should prove as a wake up call for what's coming. Speaking as someone who has had her share of run-ins with cosmic horrors, when you get into a war with them you must expect that each battle you fight might be your last. While doing so, make sure that you have enough mental resolve to not get corrupted by it. Or worse. You encounter this Goddess with overconfidence then she'll make sure she'd strip every ounce of that away" Malty thought about how she felt before her encounter with Darius. Part of her wondered if she could feel that from a powerful Elder then what would The Goddess bring? "So how did you guys do it?" Izzy and Malty looked at Baron, who is approaching his cousin before him. "That...one cosmic being you faced awhile back-" "Big Bro, I don't thin-" "She and Darius both said it sis" Baron cuts her off. "This isn't some one off battle. This is a war. People could die from this, or worse. So how did you defeat that thing you and your friends fought in Shepard?" Izzy paused for a moment, she told them cliffnotes of that event but never the full story. There are parts she'd rather forget, she can feel her throat burn slightly as unwanted memories entered her mind. "The rest I shall tell you in due time but what I can say is...Lets just say that whole Power of Friendship stuff? Sometimes its not BS. There's also making a few decisions you'd live with for the rest of your life. Victory comes with a price" She felt Baron embrace her with Malty doing the same not long after. Izumi Miyazaki has always been known to try and operate on a more rational side of things. Having grown up with a family like hers, in a town like Shepard that would make any small town from Stephen King's works look like Mayberry in comparison, running on rational mode helps keep herself focused and sane. Yet, at this moment. Rational takes a time out. For about a minute. "Just a word in advance guys. In the event we make it out of this, that thing I said about lines never crossed? I'm open to broaden my horizons. After a talk with my husband of course." Note: A combination of caffeine high and watching Buffy can do this  |

You know, I like how this reflects back on Scarlet Sentinel's Story. She didn't accept help or ask it from anyone and did everything herself...and it got her killed. The Golden Child tried to fly solo, relied solely on herself and her insane power, and she paid the ultimate price. Meanwhile, you have these kids who, while powerful in their own right, know their own limits and are smart enough to accept help and start quickly teaming up just to prepare for the coming storm. |
