Santino D'Antonio ran through the rain drenched streets as fast as his legs could take him. His fancy suit was being drenched in the storm and his usual cocky grin was replaced by a look of pure panic. Everyone was dead. His entire army was gone. Ares wouldn't last long either. John was coming for him. So, he had to run like absolute hell shoving people out of the way as he did so. It didn't matter. They didn't matter. The storm didn't matter. All that mattered was making it to The Continental. As long as he could make it there, he would be safe. Nobody, not even John, would be insane enough to break the rules there. Perkins did it sure, but Perkins was insane. John wasn't. He was angry at him, enraged, justifiably so admittedly, but he wasn't as insane as Perkins. Santino could make it. He had a long lead on John. He could make it to The Continental, and he would be safe! As he ran closer and closer to the hotel, he heard Winston's words echoing through his mind over the thunderclap overhead.
You stabbed the devil in the back and forced him back into the life that he had just left. You incinerated the priest's temple. Burned it to the ground. Now he's free of the marker, what do you think he'll do? He had a glimpse of the other side and he embraced it. But you, Signor D'Atonio... took it away from him.
No. No matter. He would survive! He would live! He would make it and be safe1 He had enough coin to live the rest of his life there! John wouldn't touch him! However he was so hyper-focused on running away in his blind panic and escaping John he failed to realize the threat in front of him. It wasn't his fault really. Mukuro was dressed just like everyone else he was running past so he wouldn't even think of her as a threat without seeing her face which was partially covered by a black half-mask under her hood. It was an honest and very human mistake that he realized once a blur of speed swirled around him and the young woman in the urban camouflage rain hoodie slipped her hands back into her pockets. Blood sprayed from Santino's legs, arms and back all at once. His scream of pain was covered up by an overhead explosion of thunder over his head. "GGGGAAAAAHHHH! AAAAARRGGGH!" He screamed before he dropped to the concrete in pain.
"Aaaaaah......aaaaahhhhh....n-no....nooo....nooo....who...what...how? How? Aaaaaahhh!" He cried out in pain and began dragging himself along the rain slicked ground while the storm continued drenching his wounds and washing away his blood. He dragged himself forward along the ground and tried to stand up but he just collapsed again and again. "Aaaaahhhh!!!" He cried out in pain. His assailant simply watched him while she waited for John to show up and finish him off. To Hell with Santino. She had a debt to repay from her time in Fenrir.
Besides she could tell Junko about his Despair in his final moments later. She would so proud of her!
