He caught his breath, recovered and stood back up and then side stepped the storm of bullets and walked around and in between the flying vehicles and then jumped up to the last one in line and ripped off the side of it. His intention of course was to grab the pilots and take them to safety before he repeated the process on the others but to his surprise there was nobody inside! He stepped inside and looked at the console. Apparently this machine was run by computers. No pilots it was all automated. "Well how about that? Makes my life easier." He smirked and smashed the console before flying out of the machine into the next one, repeated the process and continued to do so for each of the flying machines, never finding anyone inside, just the computers and then flying back down to the ground to catch his breath. The flying machines crashed to the ground and exploded. The bullets they'd been firing chewed up the landscape before dropping to the ground. The tank shells hit the ground where he'd been standing earlier and exploded harmlessly.
The tanks spun around to find him while he recovered. "Looks like the damage from earlier hurt me more than I thought. But. I can still handle you tin cans."
The tanks noticed him and moved into position to surround him and opened fire. "Sorry. You had your chance!" He sped towards a tank again, side stepped its shell and jumped on top of the tank and ripped it open. He dropped inside and looked around for the drivers but he only found more computers. "It looks like whoever sent these things only trusted machines to get the job done, huh? Your call." He smashed the controls and stepped out. He repeated the process on the other tanks but he never found anybody inside. Just the machinery. Odd. After smashing apart the tanks computers they were completely shut down.
Guardian Angel sped away and stepped down a goof fifty feet away. He looked at the battlefield. "Okay so that's the tin cans taken care of. But still...where did those missiles from earlier come from? I know I felt a few hitting me on the way down." He flew into the air and looked around until he finally spotted the missile launching platforms camouflaged in the sides of the mountain. He flew over to them and prepared to smash those apart as well when a hulking suit of powered armor burst out of the ground propelled by powerful thrusters on its back and feet and rocketed into him! He saw it coming in time to catch its wrist however followed by catching its left wrist and holding it back. "Okay just who the hell are you?!"
The armors wielder responded with deafening ear splitting sonic waves from the mouth of the suit that were clearly amplified by some kind of speaker system inside the suit. So much so that they were tearing up the ground around and behind him! Caught off guard b this he was propelled backwards like a rocket. The armored shrieker leaned forward while continuing to blast him before raising its arms up and releasing more sonic blasts from its hands.
He was propelled head over heels a hundred feet away until another armored suit burst out of the ground wielding a high-tech hammer. The suit spun around and then activated rockets on the back of the hammer and then swung it into him at full force causing a shockwave of energy to burst free as kinetic amplifiers on the hammer drastically amplified the effects of the impact! Caught off guard as he was with no room to maneuver or dodge he was hit full force and sent flying away. As he flew up into the air like a fly ball he was struck in the head and chest by long range rockets fired by another armored villain who'd been watching from afar and monitoring the situation.
After that he was sent crashing back down to the Earth below and managed to land on his feet but with how unsteady he was he ended up dropping to one knee and rubbed his head. "....Seriously though, who are you guys?"
Yet another one burst free of the ground and began firing on him with Wrist Mounted GAU-17/A Guns, Shoulder Mounted M242 Bushmaster chaingun Milkor MGL's, and Leg Mounted FIM-92 Stinger Missile Launchers while a quartet of machine drones flew up behind it and fired more missiles at him! The barrage did its job in sending him flying backward off of his feet at least while he kept his arms up to shield himself. They weren't hurting too much but with how much of a beating he'd taken already and his ears ringing from the sonics he was certainly off balance enough to be knocked around.
As he was trying to right himself back up he noticed yet another one of them flying far above him with its arms raised up above its head. A swirling ball of fire floating above it.
The armored man flew down at high speeds and then it threw the giant ball of fire down on him. The result was a giant explosion that spread out into a massive blanket of flames! The armored villains stood together aside from their sniper while the area turned into a massive inferno. They stood together yet spread out just far enough that they would be able to back each other up if he got back up.
As they scanned the area they finally noticed there wasn't any sign of him!
"How about that? Do you think we got him?" The shrieker asked. "Doesn't look like there's anything left of him."
"No. He's not dead. If he was that easy to kill he would've been dust by now." The armory man stated. He scanned the area until he finally spotted Guardian Angel standing one of the now empty missile platforms and looking down on them. "THERE!"
The team stared at him in surprise. "How the hell did he get all of the way up there?" The hammer armor asked.
"Slippery little bastard must've ran during the explosion." The fire armor stated. "Relax though. He's bound to be running on fumes now. We just need to keep up the pressure and he'll fold. Lets kill this prick!"
"I'm going to need a long nap and a shower after this. Also a new suit." He looked down at the tattered mess his costume had been turned into. "Thank Gods I've got spares." He rolled his shoulder. "Still..." (What exactly am I going to do here? It shouldn't take too long heal from these injuries but it doesn't look like they're going to give me a chance to do that. My ears are ringing. I'm covered in bruises and burns. I've got numerous scrapes and cuts. I've got a killer headache. I'm off balance and to top it all off I'm fighting at least five or six villains in powered armors. But so what?) He stood back up again and stared them down as the armors closed in. "HEROES NEVER GIVE UP! COME ON!" He rocketed forward to bring the fight to them.
Meanwhile, Saving Grace began rapidly closing on Earth returning from her space mission.
He then punched the gunner down to the ground followed by the pyro and sent both of them crashing down onto the screamer. The hammer wielder turned back around and flew at him again while he was catching his breath and he dodged the hammer swing, winced at the pain in his body and then slammed the hammer villain down to the ground. That was when he was hit in the back by another series of rockets that sent him flying up into the air. He caught himself and righted back up and turned back around and releasing blasts of heat from his eyes that super-heated the air to the point of ionization, resulting in lighting-like bolts erupting from his eyes and obliterating the drones and setting the ground on fire. He powered down in time to catch a missile and turned around and threw it away. It exploded against the ground and he flew forward. He quickly closed in on the sniper who continued to take shots at him. With a barrage of gunfire, rockets, missiles and mortar fire. He flew right through the 50 cal bullets and dodged everything else until he finally closed in on the sniper and stopped in front of him.
"Hey."
The sniper just stared up at him nervously. "H-hey."
"Wanna join the party?" He asked before driving a right cross into the helmet of the sniper and smashing him to the ground, stomping on him and ripping off his guns and launchers.
While in the middle of this he noticed the oncoming barrage of gunfire and he raised him up and used him as a shield! The villain was rocked by the gunfire and explosives and then Guardian Angel threw him away and flew at the others. He released another blast of heat and energy from his eyes that struck the hammer wielder first and blasted that villain back and then he moved his head to the left while blasting back the others. First the screamer and then the gunner until the pyro flew into the path of the blast and absorbed the entirety of the heat vision blast into his suit, charged up and released a larger blast right back! He flew down to the ground but the blast grazed him and singed his chest and arm. He grunted in pain but gritted his teeth and powered through the pain to fly right back at them again. He quickly closed in on the villains again and then the armored pyrokinetic flew backwards and released a flame blast towards him again only for him to fly up at an angle and around his blast, put on a burst of speed and zip around behind him and punched and kicked him down to the ground and dropped down next to him, picked him up, swung him around and threw at the hammer villain before running down the sonic weaponry villain and
sending the villain flying off his feet with a punch and then blitzing the gunner and ripping apart the guns and tossing him over to the sonic weaponry villain. He took a moment to take a breather and catch his breath as the villains untangled themselves and got back up on their feet for another round. With the guns gone, the gunner instead took out a sword hilt and turned it on and a 25000°C energy blade was turned on from the blade!
He ran towards them and blitzed past the others to drive his elbow into the helmet of the sonic armor and kick the villain away! He turned around and landed on his feet. The swordsman and hammer villains both stepped in and attacked him. The swordsman slashed at him and he jumped over the blade and then did a spinning flip over the hammer before landing next to the hammer user and kicked the villain away. The pyro tried to blast him from behind but he was able to dodge out of the way and ran around him and kicked him away. The swordsman jumped in and slashed at him and Guardian Angel was forced to catch the energy blade between his hands!
"Ikken Shiro Hatori." He smirked. The White Feather Bird Sword Catching Technique. A little something he picked up from Zane. The force of the swing was enough to make his feet crack the ground but he held firm, holding off the sizzling hot blade of energy despite its heat with just his hands and they struggled against each other and then he kicked his foot out and kicked his knee to knock him off balance while the hero pulled the sword away by the blade, released it, caught it and tossed it away. His hands were smoking a little but he was good to go. He kicked the villain up into the air and then spin kicked him away. Guardian Angel then blew on his hands a couple of times, shook them out and clenched his fists. The hammer villain jumped in at him next and he flash stepped behind him, grabbed his leg and slammed him down and drove his fist into the back of the armor and ripped it off! With this weakness made in the armor he ripped the rest of it apart and pulled the pilot out to reveal... "Hammertime? What the hell are you doing here?" He asked the super-villainess.
"Heh-heh. Surprised? Our new employers have offered us several new tricks." She grabbed him and kicked out at him with enough force to send him skidding several feet backwards!
"What?! Oh don't tell me."
She held out her hand and an energy hammer appeared in her hand. "Genetic amplification, Guardian Angel. They gave us all kinds of fancy boosts!"
Guardian Angel clenched his fists and fought to catch his breath.
Saving Grace began re-entering Earth's atmosphere.
As the battle waged on, the sniper who'd been tossed away earlier finally picked himself back up and shook off the impact. "Ohhhh maaan. That wasn't fun. Where the hell are those idiots shooting?" He stood up and looked at the suit. His weapons had been stripped away and it had taken several hard hits not just from the hero but also his own people. "Screw it. Disengage." He ordered and the suit opened up and he hopped out. "Ahhh that's better. Now where is that little prick?"
"WOOOHOOO!" Hammertime yelled out as she elongated her hammer and quadrupled its size and then swinging it down on him. Guardian Angel dodged again as the hammer hit the ground and set off an explosion on impact! While it was a large explosion he was safely outside of the blast radius to take cover while Hammertime was left with a bunch of fire and smoke in her face. Guardian Angel lunged forward, burst through the smoke cloud and drove his fist into her face. Her head jerked back and blood and spittle sprayed from her mouth as she was knocked off of her feet. Guardian Angel pursued her and drove his fists into her stomach a few times before kicking her away. Guardian Angel settled down on the ground as she was sent flying away a considerable distance and then crashed to the ground.
"You guys might be enhanced but you still aren't as fast as me." He smirked.
The pyro blasted him from behind and he backflipped in the air, looked down at him and pointed his arms at him and released twin blasts of electricity from his hands along with shockwaves, simultaneously generating twin electrical arcs and a localized exothermic reaction of explosive force that simultaneously blasted him with electricity and concussive force! He was sent flying backwards and his armor crumpled and sparked. His powers would protect him from the heat of the attack but the suit would still take considerable damage and the kinetic nature of the shockwaves would hurt him regardless. After sending him away he landed on the ground and was hit by another sound blast! "GAAAAAAAHHHH!" He cried out and braced himself against the ground while covering his ears. "In...dooor....VOICE!" He called back out and used his heat vision again. Since she wasn't a pyrokinetic and her armor wasn't specifically designed against heat energy she was blasted backwards as the armor burnt up and crackled and smoldered from the blast! He stopped as the swordsman attacked him again and he jumped out of the way as his sword slashed into the ground, leaving a burning smoldering cut in the ground.
The sonic armor skidded across the ground a considerable distance digging a trench in the ground and then the suit opened up and disengaged leaving its occupant, The Howler, to fight him. She popped out of the suit and took a few deep breaths she shook her head. "Okay, at what point did we lose control here? We blasted him with a laser, nuked him, hit him with a ton of missiles, hit him with more missiles, hit him with tank shells, we have been hitting him with everything we've got...and he's still coming at us. What the hell?!"
The swordsman crashed next to her and his armor fell open revealing a man with a more armored pilot suit compared to the others. He stood up.
"Armory? Level with me here, can we beat this guy?"
"Don't lose your nerve now, Howler. We've got him on the ropes." He informed her as Hammertime rejoined them, having used her armor as an exploding pole vault, and then the Pyro, Fever Ember, rejoined them as well.
Guardian Angel took a few deep breaths while he recovered. "Hey...so...you guys...give up...yet?" He asked in between breaths. "'Cause I can...do this all day."
"TAKE HIM!" Hammer shouted and Howler screamed at him but he vanished from sight to appear behind them but that was when Armory turned around and fired a gas grenade at him! He caught it and it exploded in his hand, releasing a cloud of VX Sarin Fused Nerve Gas! The villains backed away while Armory continued to shoot him to create a larger and large cloud. Guardian Angel dropped down from the cloud coughing and hacking and sneezing and stumbling around. Hammer elongageted and balooned up her energy hammer and swung it on him while he was off guard, causing a large explosion on impact that smashed him into the ground! Howler then took the chance to scream at him while Ember released a sheet of flames that washed over him! This also had the effect of blowing away the cloud.
"We've got him! We've freaking got him! Keep it up guys! Destroy every last trace of him!" Hammer declared though they couldn't hear her over Howler's screaming. Slowly, gradually, a human figure began to emerge from the flames with his arms crossed in front of himself and his torn and tattered cape blowing backwards from the force of her sonic blast. He took a single step forward. Then another. Then another. Howler narrowed her eyes and screamed louder but he just kept coming. His eyes flashed red and he flew forward. He drove his elbow into her stomach hard enough to knock the wind out of her and lift her up into the air and then punched her away and then he tackled Ember to the ground and began repeatedly punching him in the face before being struck by Hammer. He was launched away and spun around but he managed to get off a blast from his right hand that zapped her away. Guardian Angel crashed to the ground as Hammer was sent flying backward again. That was when Armory took a .50 Cal Machine Gun off his back, aimed and fired on him, spraying him with DU (Depleted Uranium) shells. The superhero struggled to get to his feet while the bullets sprayed against him. He winced and gritted his teeth and held up one arm to shield himself as he climbed back up to his feet and held out his arm and released an energy blast shockwave that blasted him away.
That was when Hellbow the Archer took his shot. Utilizing his enhanced telescopic vision, superhuman strength and the enhanced high-tech bow they'd developed for him, he withdrew a series of plasma laser tipped drill arrows from his quiver, took aim, smirked and launched them his way. They tore through the air en route to him while he continued squaring off with the others. Normally he'd be able to dodge them without a problem but his ears were bound to be ringing something fierce after Howler's last attack and in his condition he'd be caught completely off guard before they bore holes in his body and then the others could finish him off. (Time to die, Hero.)
Saving Grace finally stopped her descent from the sky and stretched. "Ahhhh. Good to be back on Earth! I've missed you, Planet Earth!" She laughed and closed her eyes to get a good listen on whatever she'd missed while away in space. At first there wasn't anything too far out of the ordinary but then she heard her son's fight off in the distance and zeroed in on it. (Lets see, that sounds like...Traygamau Heights! What's Hawk doing there? Hold on....I know those voices. Why is he conversing with villains and why is his breathing so ragged?!) Her eyes snapped open. "My Son!" She turned and flew off in the direction of Traygamu Mountains. Speeding past everything else in the world to arrive there in seconds, scope out the battlefield, see the arrows in mid-flight and drop down behind her son and stop them with her palms. The plasma drills crumpled against her hands and she dropped them to the ground harmlessly.
Guardian Angel jumped at the sound of the sudden arrival. "Huh? Wha? What? M-Mom?"
Saving Grace turned around and knelt down in front of her son. "Hi honey, I'm back. Are you okay? What happened? Oh my Gods, you're hurt aren't you? My poor boy. Did they do this to you?"
"Uhh...y-yeah. Kinda. With the help of a laser satellite. And some military equipment. A lot of missiles. They had armor too." He summarized heavily. "I-I can take them...just need to...catch my breath." Guardian Angel assured.
"You've done great son. Take a breather. I'll be right back after I deal with the archer."
"That sniper dude was an archer?"
"It's Hellbow."
"So he's here too. Huh. I guess that makes sense."
"Ohhhhh shiiiiiiiiiiiii-"
"Yeah that sounds right." Saving Grace said from behind him.
He turned around and took aim only for Saving Grace to smack him to the ground and knock him out cold.
She re-appeared in front of them and the villains stared in shock and even Guardian Angel had to do a double take!
"HOLY SHIT! DID ANYBODY EVEN SEE HER MOVE?!" Hammer asked in horror.
"D-don't be afraid! We can still do this! We have them outnumbered! We just have to stick together and finish them off!" Armory informed them.
Guardian Angel then rushed him and punched him in the face, sending him skidding across the ground away from them and lashed out with a kick into Howler's stomach. Hammer tried to swing at him only for Saving Grace to catch it and no sell the resulting explosion. "Hammer...just go home." Saving Grace advised her and smacked her to the ground.
"DIE HERO!" Fever Ember shouted and released a tornado of fire her way.
"Okay seriously? I know you're a villain and all but are you seriously shooting when one of your own friends is in the way?" Saving Grace asked him as the fire tornado harmlessly flew across the mountain planes. Fever looked back to see Saving Grace standing behind him with Hammertime on her shoulder. Shouting he tried to turn and blast her only for her to smack him to the ground and drop him like a sack of potatoes.
Howler slid backwards and bumped into Saving Grace who calmly tapped her on the shoulder. She turned around and looked up at her. "H-hi...Saving...Grace."
"Hello again, Howler."
"N-now...j-just listen...I can...explain."
"You hurt my son." Saving Grace snapped and slapped her to the ground, shattering her jaw, breaking her teeth and causing her to spit some blood out on the ground. Saving Grace picked her up as well and looked over to her son. "Hey Son! I'm just about done here! Want any help with the last one?"
"Thanks for the backup mom but this guy's mine. I owe him some bruises."
