Thanks for these man! Yeah, I enjoy RWBY even if I'm on break from it, but I wanted to have more freedom to write my own story without needing to tiptoe around the RWBY Canon. Plus, only four kingdoms felt a bit limiting to me. Oh yeah. The first two stories are taken a web series song and two different Fairy Tales mixed together respectively so they're going to be on the darker side of things! I'm definitely going to give it my best! Think of this series as closer to a Final Fantasy Game than canon RWBY. There's way more threats than just the Grimm out there! Hell yeah it is! It could also work as one to Redroom if you think about it. Or Random if you want a laugh.

REDRIOT SHORT TROPES!tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheAcetvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BrokenAce-Sir Crimson could potentially be considered this. As the story showcased, until he 'adopted' Redriot, he was basically emotionally dead to his work as a soldier. By all appearances he is by far the greatest warrior in the Kingdom, a bloody one man army, with an emphasis on bloody, that other kingdoms and soldiers were afraid of. He was strong, fast, borderline unstoppable, but there is no mention made of how he felt inside or even his humanity until he found the child and adopted her which gradually brought him back around to finding his humanity again. It should be noted that his armor completely covers him and his helmet covers his head completely. It makes him look like a demon, which is good for intimidation, but it also hides his humanity beneath his bloodstained armor. tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/SociopathicHero-A darker interpretation of Sir Crimson could potentially land him in this category. The short doesn't exactly paint the nicest picture of him after all, practically portraying him as a monster. tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BloodSplatteredWarrior-Sir Crimson isn't just in his name. His armor got that red from being splattered with the blood of his enemies. tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/WhatTheHellHero-The narrative does not hesitate to call Sir Crimson out on his actions or his internal thoughts. The fact that he initially adopted Red after taking out her guardian with the intention of one day using her as bargaining chip is a dick move to be sure. However, this motive faded over the years no matter how much he tried to tell himself otherwise. tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/LoveRedeems-Crimson raising Red might've been the best thing to ever happen to him. He's genuinely raising her to be a Hero, raising her softened his heart over the years, he rediscovered his lost humanity, and while he obviously hasn't told her about her past, she's grown into a well adjusted, heroic and empathic young woman. There is certainly some moral ambiguity to it all, but it certainly might've saved his soul. It should be noted further that when confronted by a Humanoid Abomination that had been kicking the seven shades of shit out of him, he outright refused to hand her over to it. tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/WhatYouAreInTheDark-When confronted by a freely shapeshifting humanoid abomination that may or may not be made of shadows that is leading an attack on their kingdom and is talking to him via freaky telepathy, Sir Crimson downright refused to hand Red over to it despite his initial decision, knowing full well it would kill her if it got the chance and might very well kill him anyway, showing that raising his kid has definitely improved him for the better. tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/HumanoidAbomination-The Hooded Man only barely resembles a human. It appears to be made of shadows, can freely shapeshift its body around, manipulate its body parts and internal anatomy to attack, communicates via voice of the legion style telepathy, and turns into a giant monster when sufficiently wounded. Even a one man army like Sir Crimson was hard pressed to take it on and it's implied to have required teamwork from Red, Crimson and Crimson's allies to bring down! In short, it makes most of the Grimm look like jokes. Yet ironically it's very similar to The Hound Grimm. tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/LittleMissBadass-Little Red's response to watching the attack on the Kingdom and her father fighting a humanoid abomination? Grab a Katana, run across the rooftops until she reaches her father's fight, leap off of the roof and slice the abomination's freaking arm off before standing alongside him. She then tops this by fighting it's giant form alongside the adults and surviving! This was when she was just a child by the way. Sir Crimson must be one hell of a teacher. tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/AbsurdCuttingPower-Redriot's Semblance greatly amplifies a weapon's cutting power at the cost of her aura. To the point that, as a child, she was able to slice the arm off of the Hooded Man that her father struggled to hurt! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/LostOrphanedRoyalty-Implied with Redriot. Her true identity is unknown but she her baby clothes had the marking of a far off royal family, which raises the question of what she was doing in the middle of the village instead of being in said kingdom. tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/SuperMode-Sir Crimson has one via his Semblance. It allows him to completely remove his body's limiters as well as making his heart beat faster and giving him a super adrenaline rush. We haven't seen how powerful it is yet, but given that he survived his fight with the giant monster version of the Hooded Man that had been beating him before this, albeit with help from the others, it's heavily implied to be extremely powerful.

I liked the deconstruction approach with The Cynical Mentor. By showcasing the harsh reality of having someone like that mentor a young child but if you have someone there to keep him in check then the both of them can potentially grow together.

tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BetterThanCanon-I'd say so Helps that the characters are more fleshed out and managed to establish its own lore. It's good to take what inspires you but it takes real creativity to turn the inspiration into something unique. If you're lucky it may end up becoming better than the source of inspiration.

DIAMOND SHORT STORY TROPES LIST! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/CompleteMonster-The first in the series shows up in the flashback shorts! The serial killer from Diam's story, based on Bluebeard and Fitcher's Bird and The Devil from Maiden with the Silver Hands, abducts Diam's sisters one after the other, in separate occasions, takes them to his house, and basically enslaves them while telling them they will be his brides. While they are given the freedom to explore the house, he also tells them they are free to explore the house except for one locked room. Also, they are to babysit an egg. If anything happens to it, he'll take it out on them. They are absolutely forbidden from entering the forbidden room. When curiosity overtakes them, they enter the room and find the bloody corpses of his previous victims, the egg getting covered in blood. When the killer discovers this, he brutally murders them. After the first two sisters die, he abducts Diam, the youngest of the sisters (Bringing up its own horror!) and puts her through the same trial. She passes but she also makes her own plans. With the killer intending to force her into a marriage, she puts her plan into motion, lures the killer and his family into the house, escapes and sets off the trap, burning down the house and killing everyone but the killer. He later tracks her down, abducts an innocent man and nearly cuts off her hands before her Semblance activates and saves her just in time. A ruthless deranged mass murderer, the kidnapper is one of the most chilling villains seen in Residus so far. Small wonder why he's also one of the first villain casualties so far! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/GemstoneAssault-Diamond Ancelin has an Emma Frost-esque Semblance to turn her body into Organic Diamond. What are the odds? tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/GoodIsNotSofttvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BewareTheNiceOnes-Diamond Ancelin was, by all accounts, a kind and sweet hearted young girl before the killer ruined her life with the murders of her sisters. Discovering their horrible fates, along with the bloody remains of other women, awoke a very dark rage in her, leading to the fire that wiped out the killer's family and damn near killed him as well. Later, after he abducts an innocent boy who helped her and uses him to blackmail her into accepting getting her hands cut off, Diam finally activates her semblance and lets her rage take over. Resulting in a Diamond Fisted Hawk-Style No Holds Barred Beatdown being unleashed on him. The killer later dies from his wounds. The moral of the story of course is not to piss of Diamond Ancelin! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/NoHoldsBarredBeatdown-After unlocking her Semblance, Diam beats the already burned killer to a to a limp, bruised, bloody pulp. He dies from this. tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/WorfHadTheFlu-The main reason that Diam, an admittedly powerful but untrained child could beat the killer in the final battle, aside from him being caught off guard, is because he hadn't received proper medical treatment for his wounds from the fire and had spent the last few days hunting her, so he was in horrible condition when they fought. tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/StupidEvil-The killer had an unbelievably powerful Semblance, nearly on par with Fiona Thyme's Pocket Dimension's Semblance, which allowed the killer to suck people/objects into a jar, shrinking them down and allowing for easy transportation. The potential utility for this is insane! He used it to kidnap random women so he could kill them and to kidnap an innocent boy to hold as hostage. Making him a prime example of someone who never realized the potential power and utility of their gift. Even worse, he could have snuck into the house, grabbed three jars and captured Diam and the other two people in the house if he wanted with relative ease. The only problem being his wounds hampering him. He does not think to do this but to be fair, he was running on fumes and heavily injured on top of losing his family and his home AND having his crimes exposed by Diam, so he obviously wasn't thinking straight. Still stupid evil though. Especially since he didn't take the time to dress his wounds first. tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/GeniusBruisertvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ChildProdigy-Diam! After discovering the bodies of her sisters and the other women, Diam throws together a genius plan involving the heads of her bodies being delivered back to her father for burial, a letter explaining everything, an electric recording device to trick him and she tricks the killer into carrying the entire heavy basket, loaded up with a LOT, while the recording device tricks him into picking it up and resuming his walk every time he starts to get tired, resulting in the heads being returned to her father and ensuring the killer is exposed. But that's not all! She also dresses up a skull with a wedding veil and jewels in the window to trick the killer and his family into thinking she's waiting for their wedding, then sets up multiple Home Alone-esque traps around the house involving gasoline, oil and liquor and fire, then disguises herself as a Bird Faunus and walks right past them and sneaks away then sets off the trap and burns the house down. Wiping them all out at once. THEN she shows further cunning in surviving in the woods alone until she finds the mill house and they take her in. All this before any proper training or awakening her Semblance. The bruiser part kicking in when she does wake it up. Cue Beatdown. tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/RapidFireFisticuffs-How Diam brings down the killer. JOJO Style. "ORAORAORAORAORAORA!" tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/KillingInSelfDefense-Lets face it. Diam was 100% justified in unleashing that beatdown. They were just trying to provide a warm meal to what they thought was a lost beggar and were caught off guard by his Semblance. tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/PowerFist-Uses thick armored gauntlets in modern times that double as hookshot gauntlets. tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheGrappler-It's mentioned that she trained in grappling as she was growing up, something her grappling hook compliments.

ROSE SHORT STORY TROPES LIST! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/CharacterRerailment-The short story essentially acts as this for Carabosse, better known as Maleficent in Disney's version of Sleeping Beauty. After the Live Action Disney Films turned her into a giant woobie, this story rerails Carbosse as she was originally: A petty jackass who cursed an infant and an entire Kingdom with her out of a believed slight. Which is much more in line with her traditional fairy tale version and even Disney's original animated Maleficent than the woobified live action version. In fact, this version might be even WORSE than in the original fairy tale! At least this version of the King initially apologized to Carbosse with a kind letter explaining the situation that praised her and apologized for her not getting a golden plate. She still took offense to him not delivering it personally and them starting to eat before she made her dramatic entrance. She then proceeds to insult the King, challenge him to a fight she knows he isn't going to win, stomp him and curse his daughter and thus his entire Kingdom with her which eventually results in multiple deaths from people trying to save them! The curse lasts centuries into the present day until Redriot arrives and frees Rose. Unfortunately, she doesn't know how to free the others. Suffice to say, our version of Maleficent is back on track. The story is even using her original Fairy Tale name of Carbosse! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/EvilIsPetty-It takes a special kind of asshole to outdo Cinder freaking Fall in this category but Carabosse Duvessa is definitely in the running. See above under Character Rerailment. tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/NighInvulnerability-Suggested with Carbosse. If it isn't wrought iron, she ain't sweating it as the poor king discovered. tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BarehandedBladeBlock-Carbosse's utterly nonchalant reaction to the King's sword is to catch it in her bare hand with no damage. Justified in this case as described by the text. Steel won't work on her. You need wrought iron. tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ExactWordstvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/LoopholeAbuse-Carbosse challenges the King to a duel and promises not to use her magic against him and she means it. She said nothing however against using it to amplify herself. tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/PapaWolftvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/AdaptationalBadass-You have to give credit to King Briar. He does NOT take Carbosse's shit lying down in this version. When she barges in and starts insulting and threatening people, he stands tall, shouts her down and tells her to behave herself or leave. When she persists, he outright challenges her to a duel and flat out attempts to kill her. Sadly he proves woefully inadequate against her power and is soundly defeated. tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TakenForGranite-The fate of everyone in the castle affected by the curse is to turn to stone and fall into an endless sleep until the day they are freed. tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/FishOutOfTemporalWater-Rose Briar slept for over 300 years after the curse went into effect. So being awakened in the modern era is a serious culture shock she's still having trouble adjusting to. tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheAgeless-A side effect of the curse is that, even after being freed, Rose is unable to physically age past 15. tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/HappilyAdopted-While Rose definitely wants to free her biological family, she's happy hanging out with the Gozen Family and gets along well with Redriot. tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/SiblingTeamRedriot and Rose aren't blood related per say but they're both adopted and working on a team together. tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/IronWoobie-Rose Briar. She slept for over 300 years, her kingdom is gone, her family and subjects were turned to stone, she has no idea how to free them or how to confront the mysterious villain that did this to them, she can't physically age, and despite being a kind hearted peaceful person she now has to train to become what is essentially a super soldier alongside dozens of other students to even have a chance at finding the person responsible for all of this. She still soldiers on with her head held high and an outward smile. tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/LighterAndSofter-Somewhat compared to the first two stories. It's less bloody at least!

I really like what you're doing with the world. I know it's kind of beating a dead horse but you've established it as a world that has its own rules and unique cast of characters rather than a typical story set in the RWBY verse scenario.

I really like what you're doing with the world. I know it's kind of beating a dead horse but you've established it as a world that has its own rules and unique cast of characters rather than a typical story set in the RWBY verse scenario. Yeah, honestly, I knew I had to make it into an alternative universe from RWBY in order to make it its own thing. I enjoy RWBY for sure of course but I couldn't figure out to incorporate Team RDRM into it without making any retcons in the storyline, so an alternative universe gave me more freedom to play around with the setting while incorporating elements of RWBY Canon. Plus, I wanted to have more monsters and villains besides The Grimm and Team Salem.

He dies from this. tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/WorfHadTheFlu-The main reason that Diam, an admittedly powerful but untrained child could beat the killer in the final battle, aside from him being caught off guard, is because he hadn't received proper medical treatment for his wounds from the fire and had spent the last few days hunting her, so he was in horrible condition when they fought. tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/StupidEvil-The killer had an unbelivably powerful Semblance, nearly on par with Fiona Thyme's Pocket Dimension's Semblance, which allowed the killer to suck people/objects into a jar, shrinking them down and allowing for easy transportation. The authorities agreed and she was let go so long as she gets treatment and proper training at an Academy. tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BittersweetEnding-Bordering on Downer Ending. Diam won and avenged her sisters but they're still dead, and unlike the fairy tale they don't get to come back, and she has plenty of blood on her hands however justified it might've been. tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/NoGoodDeedGoesUnpunished-The reason Diam's sisters were abducted and murdered? When she persists, he outright challenges her to a duel and flat out attempts to kill her. MEDALLION SHORT STORY TROPES LIST!
tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BewareTheSillyOnes-Medallion is goofy. She's a dancing fool who dances and prances around everywhere she goes with a smile on her face and a song in her heart. She also has one of the scariest semblances introduced so far on the Heroes' side of the story. Red Shoes, named after the story, is able to hypnotize her enemies into involuntary dancing in which they are forced to move around and dance with her, mimicking her moves while doing so, against their own will and as has been shown, they are even made aware of what's happening but can't stop themselves! Suffice to say after it's over they're left in bad shape, if not physically than certainly emotionally. Have I mentioned she's a trained martial artist and Huntress In Training and thus considerably Superhuman in her own right? Probably best to stay on her good side. tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/InvoluntaryDancetvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/PlayingWithPuppets-As described above, Medallion's Semblance lets her hypnotize people into mimicking her dance moves. tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/SparedByTheAdaptation-Karen is an interesting case. In the original story she was a vain girl who liked her red shoes a little too much and got screwed over massively but was otherwise not really a bad person per say...outside of running off to a party instead of staying home to nurse her ill mother. That was a dick move admittedly. She got her feet cut off and later died at the end of the story and went to Heaven. In this incarnation, Karen is more malicious, being a genuine Alpha Bitch who was envious of all of the attention that Medal got after finding the treasure trove and tried repeatedly to outdo her or beat her only to fall flat on her face every time in a cycle culminating in Karen lighting up a fire around both of them, trapping them in a burning ring of fire and tries to fight her there only for Medal to use her Semblance to puppeteer Karen's body and make her dance, finally scaring Karen straight enough to make her drop the beef. While Karen is easily forgiven for all of her antics, it's made clear she has a lot of atoning to do. But it's still way lighter than how horribly screwed over she got in the original story. tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/AlternativeCharacterInterpretation-Is Medal a genuine bunny ears lawyer or is she obfuscating stupidity in the interest of having fun? Was she genuinely that easily forgiving of Karen or did she consider her constant humiliations and being forced to dance in the middle of a burning ring of fire to be enough of a punishment? It should be noted in the present story when some dopes were harassing her she had no qualms about scaring them off with her Semblance and has shown herself to be very on the ball and friendly in daily interactions with others, most notably the main girls on their first meeting. Is Medal's constant dancing just her personality or is it because she's being affected by her own Semblance? tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/DanceBattler-Medallion, naturally, has a fighting style called Dance Sensation she learned from her Mentor. As you can tell from the title it's a combination of dancing and martial arts. tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/WhipItGood-Medal uses a metal sword whip she keeps wrapped around her waist as her weapon. tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/LighterAndSofter-Both compared to the first two stories and the original Red Shoes Story. No death or violence or maiming, just a goofy dancer girl dunking on her jealous rival and then scaring her straight. tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/GreenEyedMonstertvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/AlwaysSomeoneBetter-Karen was initially envious of the attention and hero worship Medal got for discovering the treasure and becoming the town darling which only got worse as Medal continued to outdo her and her attempts at bullying Medal blew up in her face. She got better thankfully and has likely remained in town to make up for her past actions.
