"It's not like they're sending us in completely blind, they even got us an agent to help us learn the ropes." Hana said "Who is the agent?" Hiro asked, still processing what her siblings had informed her. "A guy named Song. He's pretty cool, in a introverted sort of way. He'd even watch over us whenever you're out doing your thing, just incase some Rogue decides to use us for leverage" Hiro winced at that possibility, one of her own personal fears. She knows they're capable of taking care of themselves but, as her dad would tell her, "All it takes is one good day." "The company knows when to think ahead. As long as it doesn't affect your social, educational life. Or have you do anything shady then I'm cool with it" Hiro assured then was caught off guard as Hana pounced on her back, hugging her. "Yaaay! Coolest big sis ever!" OT: OH HELL YEAH, AGENT SONG! Hanzo hugged his siblings. "I have to admit, I never thought we'd get into the big leagues this early, but I'm not going to look this horse in the mouth! This is going to be awesome!"

Some time later, someone observes the scene of Hana burrowing her face in Hiro's shoulder and Hanzo rubbing the back of his younger sister's hair in a comforting manner as the eldest sibling lets the two snuggle against her closer. Viewing it within the confines of a black lexus and one cybernetic eye his heart melted at the sight. Even with his no-nonsense demeanor he's a sucker for this kind of heartwarming moment.
"You could take a snapshot of it and use it as a wallpaper" A young woman sitting next to him joked, she appeared to be in her late teens with short red hair and a black suit with a Paladin badge pinned to her right breast.
"Nah, they deserve some privacy. They surprise me you know? Most would be freaking out, knowing what they've known" The older gentleman said while he shuts his camera mode off then relaxed.
"It's how Aliens interpret us Song, we are a complex lot. While it can be a curse it does explain how we've managed to survive as long as we have"
"Heh. Yet the bastards still underestimate us. If what we know is true then its going to be interesting when the Goddess-Bitch starts bringing her A-Game." Song waved at the house, "BTW Dinah, remind me to arrange a meeting with Hiro tomorrow"
"Consider it done" Dina said
Song nods then commands the car to take them back home

Wakamura Toki put the crushed ice in the glass and then set the glass on the counter and switched to slicing up a banana into small chunks on a cutting board. Next she poured them down into the glass. The next step of course was to take a scoop of vanilla ice cream and dropped it into the glass. After that she poured in some milk. Next she placed the lid on the glass and placed it all onto the blender and blended it all until it was smooth. Once she was satisfied Toki took the glass off of the blender and took the lid off. She topped it off with a big spoonful of whipped creamed and decorated it with a pinch of cinnamon, some banana chips and a cherry. The finishing step of course was a colorful straw. Afterword she cleaned the counter, placed the glass on a paper plate and sat down at the table and began to sip it. (Ohhhh yes that's good! That's very good. That's what I needed today! I'll hit the gym hard tomorrow to make up for it but man do I need this right now!)
Toki closed her eyes as she let herself relax and take in the quiet of her house. It was just her here alone with her thoughts. Mother and father would be busy all night with the aftermath of the monster attack so she just had to be sure to clean up after herself and lock up the house before she left for the sleepover.
A Monster Attack. It sounded so simple to say it but seeing one actually unfold was mortifying. She wasn't even there in person and it shook her to her core. Hearing all those people screaming bloody murder from the monster's vile torture was heart wrenching. She froze up when she saw that and she wanted to break down crying at the horrifying sight of their bloodcurdling torment. None of those people deserved that. Nobody did. She wouldn't wish that on anyone. No one. Not Suko. Not even Johnny. A no holds barred beatdown followed by life in prison or a lawful execution? Sure! But not something like that.
As if that wasn't bad enough, the horrific beating that Chidori took nearly made her vomit. She would be seeing that bloody thrashing in her nightmares. She had no idea how Chidori even got up after the first real hit. The hits she was giving that monster would've certainly demolished a normal human but it was shrugging them off completely and beating her around like a rag doll. It could've killed her. It could've killed her at any time. That much was clear from the outset. She was completely outmatched and she was too blinded by rage to see it. She had never seen Chidori that angry. She'd heard about her legendary rage and seen the results of it with what she did to Suko's face but she'd never seen it in action.
Toki was sure it was that rage that kept her going in the fight. That same rage that broke open the sphere and punched the monster a block away.
(And what were you doing?) Inner Toki asked her. (Where were you when all this was going on?)
"Where was I? Isn't that obvious. I was hiding like a coward. I'm the daughter of two of our city's greatest police officers, a trained martial artist, our class representative, a symbol of justice and proper etiquette and sophistication....and I was hiding like a coward while innocent people screamed in agony."
She clenched her fists. "Suko Chifumi nearly killed Chidori in the past and I wasn't there to help. Johnny broke into Hawk's home and nearly killed her, putting her in a coma, and I wasn't there. Now this monster attacked our city and I couldn't help. 👎︎♋︎❍︎❍︎♓︎⧫︎! Why does this keep happening?! I want to help but...I just...can't!" She placed her head on the table and grabbed her hair. "I'm so sorry everyone. I'm so, so sorry."

As a kid she'd gobble up those classic samurai films like a small child with a table full of candy then read up on the history. Both fictional and folklore, while she understands that the samurai principles aren't perfect she knows that cops aren't perfect either yet she still admired what her parents do in the field. Her inner self gave her the stern look as that of a drill instructor. Toki is questioning if she's having a Fight Club moment but she recalls several instances on her inner self may not be a figment of her imagination. But that is another story for another time. For now Toki stood in attention like a student before her sensei or a private first class before a drill sergeant. "We both have been around this scenario long before. Once with Jonny and now with the monster attack. Guardian had no idea what she was into either but she prevailed" "She?" Toki asked Inner Toki shook her head, "Come on, you've never bought into that BS theory of Guardian being a guy all this time. The point is this: Sakura, Eiji, Chidori, just how many more friends have to suffer before you finally decide to take some real action?"

You're braver than this! You're better than this! But you've been too scared to step outside of your comfort zone. Everything neat and tidy and in its proper place. Proper form and etiquette at all times. Anything that pushes against that wall is forced to tiptoe around it or is pushed away. You keep your real emotions bottled up and put a damper on your actual abilities because you're too scared to step out of your little comfort zone. All this time she was ultimately too scared to break from her comfort zone and her friends had been suffering for it. She lost Sakura. She nearly lost Eiji. She nearly lost Chidori in more ways than one. She couldn't keep standing in the background when her friends were on the front lines risking their lives. No matter what kind of threat they faced they always did so with brave faces and noble hearts while she stood in the background. No more. "No more. You're right. I've been holding back too much. I've kept myself reigned in but I...I won't. Not anymore. I won't. I'll fight alongside them. I'll step up on the frontlines alongside them. But before that I'll need to train." "Good. That's much better. The conviction is returning to your eyes. You have a perfect opportunity to train to find your true potential coming up with The Paladins. Do NOT Waste It."

Toki rolled her eyes, "Oh don't give me that Figment of Your Imagination crap. I'm starting to see there's more to you than I originally suspect" It took her a moment before she realized the one naughty word(crap) she said then covered her mouth. Other Toki laughed, "Not quite raunchy but off to a good start already. But seriously girl, you know who to call" Toki bit her lip, "Yeah but I do need to talk to my mom about that before I do it." Other Toki's eye's widened "Look, I need to take action but I'm not going to go behind my mother's back to do it. I know her and Grandpa aren't exactly on speaking terms but if I want to take my fighting to the next level then he's the only one I know who could do it. And that would all depend on Mom's blessing" Other Toki sighed, not the option she wanted to hear but she understands from Toki's POV. "Yeah. What if she says No?" Toki shrugged, "Then I'll always find another way."

Toki shrugged, "Then I'll always find another way." Grand Master Takauji Sadow. Grand Master of The Shining Devil Fist. The style is a strictly offensive art form that lives for crushing the enemy through a rapid succession of strike after strike on vital and vulnerable parts of your opponents' bodies along with joint manipulation and has a focus on crushing the enemy. In many ways it was the polar opposite of Diva's In Defense. Not just in the philosophies but also because The Shining Devil Fist was originally developed for assassination purposes. It could be said to be on par with Dragon Kai. If she did this, if she went down this road, it could mean betraying everything she'd come to believe in from her dojo but...considering the coming threats, she had to be ready for anything. "Unless..." "Yes? Go on." "It might be possible to find a medium. A middle road combining the philosophies of both. It will be difficult but I think I can pull it off." She sat back down and raised the smoothie. "First thing's first though. I'll need to get my head back on straight, finish this drink and prepare for the sleepover. It will give me time to think about how I'm going to bring up the idea to mom." "Now that's the Toki I know. You've got those creative juices flowing. Just remember not to lose yourself while training with him." "I know. I know this will be difficult. I'm walking a tightrope here but I think he could be the key I've been missing." "In that case I'll be by your side. From now on and forward." "Cheers. And...thank you. Other Me." "Of course. You're always welcome Toki." They shook on it and her other self flowed back into herself. Toki sighed with relief. "Thanks other me. Cheers." She resumed sipping her drink.

Note: I believe this is as good of a spot as any to end things. We could do the sleepover as a special one shot story Plus this gives me a chance to do a little catching up as I proceed with my Guardian story. The way I have it planned is the first volume centers on her early years while the second will be in a more present setting. It'll give us some time to work out where to take the gang next going forward!

I'd intended this to be the first part of the second episode but we could use it as an extended epilogue to the first episode. The sleepover can be placed in a one shot to save some time. The second episode then will start with them at school the next day to continue building on the fallout of the first attack before we have them leave for training at The Paladins Facility and building up for the spider monster fight.

Since everything leading to this point has evolved to where every character seems to have blossomed into their own respective character arcs I was wondering if the next story could just be titled Paladins of Hinansho? Given that the tokuverse has evolved from being Hiro and Chidori's story into a more ensemble piece now.

Paladins of Hinansho will be used for Team Adventures. I'm still planning to keep this section around for the occasional solo adventure too though.
