Prologue It All Started With A Girl  David was alone back by the lake. He was laying against a big rock as he watches a flock of birds fly in the sky then returned to his sketchbook the moment more inspiration had caught him. He draws an image of the dream he had last night and combined it with something more recent: a drawing of him flying in the sky, giving the birds a friendly wave before he'd continue his flight even further.
He stops his drawing and reached into the rook. The water was cold and he felt the water ran through his hand. David pulls out a rock then studies it for a moment.
He couldn't quite explain it in full detail but he felt that there's something different within him. That'll play a key factor in his continued development. He concentrated for a moment then proceeds to squeeze, whatever point he was going to prove he's looking at taking that leap right then and there.
He heard a sound in the bushes and looked up. The prettiest girl he'd ever seen was looking right at him over the embankment.
She has long black hair tied in a bun, wore a black shirt with an image of a skull and lettering underneath it that reads 'Embrace Death' and black jeans. "Trying to make a diamond with that or something?"
"In actuality we've formed quite an connection and was looking at adopting it. Before you came I was running a mental list of what to call it"
She studied David for a moment, as if sizing him up, liking the impression he gave out she smiled at him. "I'd go with Rocky. Corny yet simple"
"Since you named it, that would make us co-guardians then"
Izzy laughed, to Dave, it's just as pretty as her smile. "You're OK. Name's Izumi Miyazaki but you can call me Izzy"
"David King. You can call me.....David" David's cheeks flushed. Real smooth brah.
Note: FYI. Both of the kids are twelve in this. Originally I was going for a teen-oriented series but I figure why not have it where David and the gang start out as kids? Think of it as The Monster Squad meets Goonies. |

Note: FYI. Both of the kids are twelve in this. Awww that's cute! A sweet heartwarming cute little moment between the two suits these two kids perfectly and bonding over a pet rock they just adopted is just cute. The origins of two of Earth's greatest heroes! |

She studied David for a moment as if sizing him up, like the impression he gave out she smiled at him. "I'd go with Rocky. Corny yet simple"

Izzy puts her hands on her hips and examine him, "You don't look like the giant slaying type but I'm pretty sure that's the first impression Goliath gave"
She approached David, his mouth went dry and his heartbeat increased in volume the closer she walks up to him. Izzy leaned down and whispered to the rock that David is holding. "Protect him with your life"
David is a kid with a bright future ahead of him. With that there will be a series of challenges that will test his morality and heroic resolve. The one challenge he's facing at this moment is to not blush before the cute girl.

This is just heartwarming. They have a genuinely sweet friendship between the two of them already and it feels genuine and adorable. Keep up the good work with the story! |

"I thought I recognized you. You're the guy who kicked the Christmas Slasher's ass last week. The fact that you schooled a Slasher alone is pretty impressive" Izzy complimented her new potential friend while not taking her eyes from the sketchbook she gave him. She perched herself on top of the large boulder. "He's actually called The Christmas Slasher?" David took a sip of his water, even when the police explained who the guy was when they hauled him off, he is still processing the whole thing. Slashers are known to be superhumanly strong and can soak up whatever an average person could throw at him. He took everything the Slasher threw and he didn't even left a bruise that night. "Not as created as say The Faceless Man(Go Izumi!) but on the nose when it comes to how he operates" Izzy shrugs as she turned the page. "BTW. What did it felt like?" David gave her a puzzled look. "Well, I was lucky that Jess and her mom lived. And I didn't need hospital treat-" "Not that. I mean confronting the guy? You were aware of his intentions, what did it feel like? Knowing that you might not make it out of the situation alive' David tilts his head, "Why do you ask?" "Mean no offense. It's rather a subject I'm intrigued by, you're the first person I've met to ever do that. So, what did it feel like?" David thought about it for a moment. That was a question he asked himself, most people would piss themselves when faced in a situation like that. "To be honest. I was afraid" "It's an understandable reaction" David shook his head. "Not for me. For what he could have done to my friend and her mom if I wasn't there to stop it." Izzy looked up from the sketchbook, completely thrown by David's response. She studied him for a moment, based on her first instinct, she wouldn't view the boy as a liar. The only response she could say to that was. "Shit" "Swear jar" David teased |

Loving their interactions together bro! They really are a cute couple and they're going to make a beautiful power couple when they grow up!  |

Izzy has seen her share of peculiar individuals and Shepard has no shortage of them. Yet there's something about David that made him stand out among the other eccentrics. Most people would've helped due to some personal gain so she finds it odd that a kid like him would risk his life to save someone and not expect any thanks afterwards. A soft chirping sound turned her attention away from her new friend to find a small white ferret sitting next to her. It's gaze transfixed directly at David as if studying him.  Izzy rolled her eyes with irritation, "Relax, he's cool."
David straightened up and looked at the cute animal.
"David. Ama. Ama. David" Izzy introduced
"He-"
"It." Izzy corrected
"It's adorable!"
Izzy noticed Ama's posture relaxing a bit. No doubt pleased with David's compliment (Oh great I'm going to have something that I'll never hear the end of for the rest of the day)
"It's cool to hold it"
David outstretched his arms. Ama studied him for a moment then leaped to land on David's arm and ran upwards till it perched itself on the boy's shoulder.
Note: Ama is short for Ama-no-Kagaseo. In Shinto, Ama-no-Kagaseo is the Anthropomorphic Personification of Amatsu-Mikaboshi, which is essentially The Dark Side. So, it is the personification of Evil, or at least discord, destruction and chaos, and destructive impulses.

Awwww you're making so many friends David! This is such a super cute scene! Love the info you're providing on Ama's name as well. Ama-no-Kagaseo is a cool name and an ironic one for a Guardian Spirit! It also brings to mind that Ama might be waaay more powerful than he lets on! |

Not even her older sister Kat would form that kind of bond towards Ama that quickly. Izzy even recalls the time when it almost attempted to claw at her. Yet Ama knew the boy for barely a minute and he is just chilling on Dave's shoulder.
Just who is this kid? All that she knows is his mom did errands for Izzy's GranGran and Kat and Kat would interact with David every now and then. Based on her own first impressions he doesn't appear to have any hidden agenda or is outright hostile. Otherwise he wouldn't have gotten along this well with Ama. If she could chalk him up in a sentence it would be small town boy charm but not so typical country bumpkin. There's definitely something about him that makes him stand out and she's intrigued as to what.
Izzy watches David pick Ama up so he could pet it. She picks up the sketchbook and holds it underneath her arms. She looks up at the sky, marveling just how calm the weather is right now. Smiling at how right this particular day is while enjoying the small cool breeze blowing through her hair. Closing her eyes she channeled that nice brisk of wind she is feeling and the rest of the air currents around her. She jumped from the large boulder and gently glides herself downwards till her bare feet hit the ground.
"That was so cool!" David says, excited at the display that his new friend showcased. His eyes glanced at a pair of elven ears she's sporting. "Woah, are you like...some kind of elf or something"
"Witch, actually. Descendants of the Fae and subspecies of Elves." Izzy explained while she placed her hand on the boulder. "Whatever questions you're thinking right now will be explained later. But first." she pressed against it as if to test it out. Truth be told she was going to come here for some training and finding David here.. Ever since hearing about him taking down The Christmas Slasher its a no brainer that it must take a lot to beat a Slasher singlehandedly and not show any bruises or battle scars. What better time to see what David is capable of. "Say Davey Jones, up for a little game?" |

David thought about that one for a moment, he really liked spending time with Izzy and wanted to get to know her more so what does he have to lose really? Plus he is curious about her Fae heritage. "Sure!"
Izzy smiled then focused her attention at the boulder. "I know this sounds crazy but lets see who could lift this thing off the ground first?"
David's eyes widened. He had always been curious about the limits of his abilities but is he really strong enough to lift that thing? He can feel the ferret looking up at him with intrigue. It's what his mom would prefer as a gut check time. Why back out now, especially in front of a cute girl. "OK why not? But lets make things interesting."
"What do you got?"
"If I win you-" David's cheeks turned pink. "You get to hang out with me at the Bifrost Diner"
Izzy laughed, fortunately for David, it's not exactly in a mocking tone towards his request. "Pretty ballsy for you to request that. So what do I get should I win?"
David shrugs. "Whatever you may think of"
