NEXT UP: VALERIA ALMENDAREZ! *BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM!*
Her punches colliding with the giant punching bag hanging down from the ceiling echoed off of the walls of her room as she hammered in a relentless ruthless rain of punches in an all out shadowboxing barrage! Valeria was primarily working out for the exercise but also because she woke up this morning in a bad mood for whatever reason, maybe a bad dream she'd already forgotten, so she was just jackhammering the punching bag to get it all out of her system so she'd be ready for the day proper with a calm mind. She drove her fists into it in her relentless pummeling, striking the bag as if she was intending to strike THROUGH it! To maximize your impact with strikes, you must send your force not just to the target of your strike (e.g. the nose, collarbone, groin, etc.), but through to a good distance on the other side of it: if aiming for the nose, send your impact all the way through to the back of the head. Her punches were like sledgehammers being driven into the punching bag! She'd lost track of how long she'd been hammering away at the bag and just kept going until she heard the door open behind her and her father stepped into the room! "Somebody wake up on the wrong side of the bed today, Valeria?" He teased her. She turned back around and swung at him but Valentino slipped her punch and grabbed her wrist. "Oh! SO close!" He chuckled. Valeria took a few breaths and then she brought her hand back and calmed down. Her hair was hanging down in front of her face matted with the sweat she'd worked up from her long punching workout. She blew a hair away from her face. "Buenas días, Papá." Buenos dias, niña." He replied with a smile. "Are you okay though? Is something wrong?" "Uhm, no, no, ah, it's just one of those days, you know, when you wake up in a bad mood and have to work it off? The screwed up thing is I don't even know what it was! If I were to hazard a guess though..." She trailed off. "The Christmas Party?" "Yeah. It's been Months since then and it's still bothering me. What happened that night was just so completely insane that it stuck with me. It's like, we won, I know, but I still can't get over it. Just how insane they all were that they'd do something like that at Kim's house of all places!" "Hey, hey, don't worry about those losers. Some people are just loco, right? Loco y estúpido. 'Sides, they're behind bars now and you and your friends are living your best lives together. They'll be forgotten to time before you know it but you guys? You guys are going to shine like the stars and change the world. I don't know how just yet but I know it in my heart. You're good kids and you've got good hearts with big brains. You'll do just fine." She chuckled. "Thanks, daddy." "Anytime, Valeria. Now go grab a shower and get changed. Can't having you going to school stinking of sweat!" Valeria paused to smell herself. "WOAH! Yeah, you're right, wow I lost track of time! Shoot!" Her father laughed and walked out of the room so she could get changed. Not long after the cool waters of the shower rained down and cleansed her while music played out of her phone on the sink. She specifically chose Little Busters BY The Pillows to put her in a proper mood for the day while she washed up.

Not long after the cool waters of the shower rained down and cleansed her while music played out of her phone on the sink. She specifically chose Little Busters BY The Pillows to put her in a proper mood for the day while she washed up. While in the shower, Valeria Almendarez calmed herself and placed her hands together to begin performing a breathing exercise that Trini taught her. She took a deep, cleansing breath, expanded her belly and kept her shoulders relaxed, held it in for a count of six, exhaled and repeated the process twice more before swttching to breathing normally and focusing her attention on her breathing. As she breathed, she inhaled through her nose and then exhaled through her mouth, still expanding her stomach and repeating the exercise as she felt her worries fade away and ehr mind becomign more relaxed and her mind more centered. Once she was thoroughly re-focused and calm she exited her meditation and resumed her shower and cleaning up. Now smelling like roses she returned to her room and got dressed. She exited her room dressed in black and purple tennis shoes, black jeans and a purple t-shirt that read: I Hit Like A Girl. Try And Keep Up. in black bold letters over a pair of purple boxing gloves, a pair of black ladies fingerless leather motorcycle gloves with butterfly embroidery and purple contrast stitching, and a backpack full of books slung over her shoulder with her wallet and phone in her pockets. She bounded down the stairs to step into the kitchen where her father had prepared a Breakfast Quinoa Meal for her. "Hey there's my little ball of Sunshine! You feeling better now?" "You know it, dad, sometimes you just have to let it all out in the morning, y'know? This looks great by the way." "Hey I get it. A morning workout can work wonders for peace of mind so long as you get it all out of your system so you can face the day with a clear mind." She recited. Mens sana in corpore sano is a Latin phrase, usually translated as "a healthy mind in a healthy body". The phrase is widely used in sporting and educational contexts to express the theory that physical exercise is an important or essential part of mental and psychological well-being. The phrase comes from Satire X of the Roman poet Juvenal. It is the first in a list of what is desirable in life. Traditional commentators believe that Juvenal's intention was to teach his fellow Roman citizens that in the main, their prayers for such things as long life are misguided. That the gods had provided man with virtues which he then lists for them. Over time and separated from its context, the phrase has come to have a range of meanings. It can be construed to mean that only a healthy mind can lead to a healthy body, or equally that only a healthy body can produce or sustain a healthy mind. Its most general usage is to express the hierarchy of needs: with physical and mental health at the root. Valentino nodded. "τίς εὐδαίμων, "ὁ τὸ μὲν σῶμα ὑγιής, τὴν δὲ ψυχὴν εὔπορος, τὴν δὲ φύσιν εὐπαίδευτος. That's my girl and that is a perfect way to look at life. Helping others because it's the right thing to do while making sure you are mentally and physically at your peak is the most rewarding way to live your life." "The best way to do that is to hit the books as hard as I that bag, right?" "Harder. Put in 110% and a good college will lay itself out for you." "You go it! 110% in everything! WHOO!" They enjoyed their breakfast together and then she ran out the door to the stop for school.
